Summary: A theatrical producer sacrifices his own career to boost the fortunes of a gifted young performer in this musical gem from 1938. Lena Horne makes her feature film debut as Ethel Andrews, the aspiring singer, and belts out such tunes as "I Know You Remember" and "Don't Let Our Love Song Turn Into A Blues." Depression-era entertainers as Ralph Cooper and the Harlemania Orchestra, the Basin Street Boys, and "Rubberneck" Holmes also make appearances.
